Portuguese Union creates players’ Pension Fund with FPF’s support
The Portuguese Players’ Union (SJPF) and the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) agreed on extending the protocol that links both entities until the end of the 2019/20 season.

Besides the already defined areas in the previous documents, the protocol will also be covering the Players’ Pension Fund that can, in the words if FPF’s president Fernando Gomes, be “ a pillow that allows players to face the end of their football player career.”

Joaquim Evangelista also underlined that nothing changes in the football players’ contributory scheme for the IRS and Social Security.

The Mental Health International Day takes place on October 10th and intends to alert citizens to problems related to this subject. Aware of this issue, the Players’ Union will present a project related to this subject the next week, with the purpose to reduce and overcome personal problems that football players struggle with.
